AIRPORT retail is no longer a flight of fancy. It is far removed from when waiting travellers bought newspapers or magazines or killed time in restaurants and bars. Once grounded in terminals, retail is spreading its wings at Australia's major airports, aided by federal Government planning anomalies in which few restrictions are imposed on now-privatised airports.

Mobile phones to show centre specials and directions

An Australian company has released the ultimate tool for shopping centres. Customers can now see specials on the screen on their mobile phones, get information on the location of ATM's or toilets, receive step by step directions to any shop in the centre and can even find where their friends are standing.
